Anime Review: Shadow Skill
Review Shadow Skill Written by Warpshadow Rating good/ very good
Want to see some kick ass fighting anime but don't want to be dragged into the commitment of a long television series? Then Shadow skill is just the anime for you.
In the kingdom of Kuruda there is a secret fighting school that is said to surpass all others. It is known as the shadow skill. Ella Ragu is a young master of this school becoming a national champion at the age of seventeen. Under her wing is a young boy named Gau who longs to become the greatest fighter in the land. Gau still has a long way to go as there is a lot he does not understand about the shadow skill style. A trip to visit his families' graves in this Oav doubles as a training exercise.
Shadow Skill is a short Oav that is obviously looks as if it is based on a longer story. There is also a Shadow Skill 2 Oav that is three separate stories and also fills in a bit of information about the walk on characters that you see in the beginning (in the DVD version both are included in the same DVD). The inconclusive feeling that it left me with was the biggest drawback. The characters a suprisingly well developed given the short the Oav runs. However all this pales in comparison to the fight sequences. Perhaps the other bad thing about it being so short is that since fighting anime this good doesn't come along that often it is a shame not to see more of it.
