Anime Review: Legend of the last labyrinth
Review Legend of the last labyrinth aka princess rouge written by Warpshadow rating fair/ good
Not everything really gets a full chance and in the world of anime it is no different. Legend of the last labyrinth could have been good or even average but the complete series never was made and there are only two episodes.
Yusuke Mizuki is an orphan who lives on his own while he goes to high school. One day on his way to school he takes a short cut and runs into a girl, or rather a girl falls from the sky onto him. She can't remember anything except for that her name is Rouge and so Yusuke takes her in until she can regain the memories of her past. Before that happens Rouge's past comes looking for her in the form of two sisters and a parade of villains wanting to kidnap her.
The first and most obvious feeling one gets when one watches Legend of the last labyrinth is that you probably have seen this story before. It is true that the story is a bit cliché when it comes to anime but there have been worse tellings (the girl from Phantasia springs to mind). The characters are moderately intersting and it looks like they could have grown on the viewer. See the other problem with this show is that there are only two episodes and by watching it there were clearly plans for making more. So what could have a decent anime series is left hanging as an unfinished work, dangling plot threads and all. There is the ending theme which I thought was nice. While it isn't all that bad I can't really recommend Legend of the last labyrinth.
