Anime Review: Interlude
Review Interlude Written by Warpshadow Rating good/ very good
Some people just like a good mind scrubbing with the movies they watch. If you are looking for a challenge to your perceptions in a movie then look for Interlude.
A young man (who is never named) lives an idyllic life with his childhood friend Tama. Every so often he is troubled by vicious nightmares of events that he has no memory of. There are also strange mysteries that could not logically exist. One of them is a shadow of a girl that move by itself. As the man search for the truth of the mysteries he finds that there are other worlds other than his own. Will he make it back to his own world or was his own world even real to begin with?
Interlude is a movie that challenges the perceptions of the viewer. The first twenty minutes or so of the Oav are kind of boring but it picks up after that. Near the end there is a lot of philosophical talk, which is either rewarding or utterly confusing depending on the viewer. There is also some out of place fan service when Izumi and her friends walk onstage (note she is the girl on the right in the cover picture). The movie also takes itself very seriously so the philosophy and angst near the end may get to some viewers. This is not a bad movie, just not one for everyone.
