Anime Review: I知 Gonna be an Angel

While it is common in anime for a show to get better as it progresses there are some shows that simply take too long to get to their meat so to speak.
One day while going to school Yuusuke happens upon a naked woman. In typical anime fashion she immediately declares her love for him and follows him everywhere. Even worse for Yuusuke, when he gets home he finds his house has been replaced and Noelle (the girl Yuusuke found) and her family of monsters. While her family already considers Yuusuke and Noelle to be married, Noelle vows to make Yuusuke love her by becoming an angel, a goal which is opposed by some mysterious people.
I知 Gonna be an Angel is a fairly decent drama story buried underneath a festering dung pile of a comedy show. Most of the characters are incredibly stupid and that stupidly is used for comedic effect, or at least the creators tried to make that way. Good comedy requires personality quirks, not idiocy. This is not to say that the show is without merit, it is just that you have to wait until the third DVD to get to any merit. There are several characters that have depth to them, it is no suprise that they are not the comical types. Since only half of the show is available on DVD and there are no plans to release the rest I can say that I知 gonna be an Angel is a show that isn稚 really worth watching.
