The idea of a slice of life show where most of the characters are robots would be an interesting idea if the characters weren't so lifeless.

Haruka is a teenage girl which would be normal except for the fact that there has been a gigantic war and she is the only human left alive. Instead of having a normal family she is taken care of by five robots. Staying alive in a ruined city is harder than one would first imagine as not only can necessary supplies dry up there are still killer robots left over from the war wandering about. Also they receive laser communications from elsewhere, could there possibly be other people out there?

Kurogane Communication is a 24 episode long show pieced out into 15 minute bits. Like many shows in this format is focus on small bits of plot. This leads a fairly boring show in the beginning as a slice of life without any really compelling characters isn't all that great. This does start to change around episode 9 or so when the prospect of other character are introduced. The characters aren't particularly annoying but for the most part they are stuck around issuing platitudes about how robots and humans can get along so there isn't all that much in the originality department. Overall this is a mediocre show that is worthwhile in that it can be obtained cheaply.
