Anime Review: Seraphim Call
Review Seraphim CallWritten by WarpshadowRating good
An anime show about cute girls may sound like the most generic show in existence but Seraphim Call has enough directorial know how to make this show worthwhile.
In the near future there is a city built on the sea in which among the other residents eleven girls live. Each of them has their own life and their own story and in Seraphim Call you can see them all.
As could be inferred from the short story paragraph Seraphim Call is a collection of single episode stories rather than anything with an overarching plot. While something billed as the story of eleven girls may sound like nothing more than a venue for fan service the truth is that rather than being mindless titalation there is some inventive storytelling including such things as a story told with a non linear plot (episode 4) a story told from a single camera angel (episode 2) and even an episode that is a monologue from the main character (episode 11). As with any compilation of stories the quality does vary but when all twelve episodes come bundled together fro the price of most single DVDs you can take the good with the bad.
