Anime Review: Idol Project

Every now and then I wonder why I like television shows more than Oavs and it takes an Oav like Idol project to make me remember.

Of all the idols in the world none was ever as great as Yuri who unified the world and became president. Then she retired and placed her power in the hands of six excellent idols. Mimu is a girl who dreams more than anything else to become an excellent idol like her personal hero Yuri. When Mimu goes to the star land excellent idol auditions she by luck meets and receives advices from the other excellent idols but will that be enough to help Mimu on her many trials?

Idol Project is a four episode Oav based on no discernable source material. While that is usually an indicator of originality this is sadly not the case in this Oav. What there is instead is a scattershot plot that depends heavily on deus ex machina that tries to pass itself of as a comedy. As anyone could guess by the rating that I gave this show I was not amused. Being that there is nothing else there except for it’s attempts at comedy I can safely say that that there is pretty much nothing worth watching in this Oav. Avoid it.
