Sometimes I wonder why I continue to watch Oavs despite the fact that I know most of them suck and were bought by licensing companies on the cheap.
Shinjuro was just the son of a sword instructor who lived in Tokyo during the time of the Tokugawa Shogunate. One day his father left on a journey leaving him in charge of the family dojo. In order to make ends meet his childhood friend Koharu and traveler Lei Lin move in with him. However he will need all the help he can get for Shinjuro is just about to become embroiled in a hundred year old feud that is about to take a turn that could topple the government.
Samurai Hunt for the sword is a two part Oav set in the time of Samurai. So expecting it to turn into a harem comedy (in the first five minutes no less) with a climax involving laser beams may be a bit odd to say the least. The truth is that this Oav is quite the mess with elements tripping over each other, especially the inclusion of five datable girls in a show that lasts just under an hour. Unless you have seen the likely video game that this Oav was based on this show is a waste of time and I have the feeling that just about no one has seen it.
