Anime Review: Kagihime Monogatari - Eikyuu Alice Rondo
Review Kagihime Monogatari - Eikyuu Alice RondoWritten by WarpshadowRating fair
There are a lot of anime shows that I watch fan subbed and for different reasons. In the case of this show is something I wouldn’t want to pay for or even probably rent.
Aruto Kiriha is a young man who really loves Takion’s Alice novels. One night while writing an Alice story of his own he spots a woman jumping across rooftops. Aruto follows her to the library to find two women battling with what looks like giant keys. One stabs the other in the heart in a strange ritual draws a book out of the other. The he saw and the winner of the battle is Arisu and she too is interested in the Alice novels. The become very friendly with each other which doesn’t sit well at all with Aruto’s sister Kiraha who is also a part of the Alice story battles.
There are many fantasy anime shows that have a strange and somewhat arbitrary set of rules for combat and this show is another example of that phenomenon. Howver there are several shows of it’s types that are better than Kagihime. Things such as obviously substandard art and a cast that appears two dimensional at first make this show hard to get into. To be fair some of the art issues could be the result of the fan sub that I watched the show on and could be cleared up with a dvd release. As with most shows it does start to improve alltough most of that is in characters that only appear in a single or a couple of episodes. Overall I found this to be a substandard anime show that I do not recommend.
