Anime Review: Koihime Mousou
Review Koihime MusouWritten by WarpshadowRating fair/ good
Despite all the exotic locations and girls swinging pole arms this show has all the substance and quality of cotton candy.
In ancienct China the peace of the land was broken by bandits and other miscreants. Luckily there was a hero like the black haired bandit hunter Kannu. One day Kannu came to a village where she met the Rinrin bandits who were actually just a group of children. The leader of the band is an orphan girl named Chouhi who after a lengthy duel eventually bonds with Kannu and makes a declaration of sisterhood. When Kannu decides to leave for the next village Chouhi decides to travel with her which is only the beginning of their adventures.
Koihime Musou is a very loose adaptation of the famous novel Romance of The Three Kingdoms. For example it has been a while since I read it but I am pretty sure that Zhang Fei, or Chouhi under Japanese pronunciation, wasn't a ten year old girl. What the show mainly consists of is a small collection of girls, both prepubescent and those with watermelon sized breasts traveling about meeting other girls, with the occasionally dressing up in waitress outfits or beating up bandits with pole arms. This show is pretty much a text book example of moe pabulum and only good for those looking for a silly show to zone out with.
