Audio Players
ASO Radio Episodes are encoded in the Ogg Vorbis file format. Ogg Vorbis is a digital audio format, somewhat similiar to MP3; however, unlike MP3, Ogg Vorbis is completely free for any use and has superior quality. It is because of these reasons that ASO Radio uses Vorbis for our show.
As such, to tune into our show you need a Vorbis-capable player. Below is a list of media players ASO Radio recommends. For a more comprehensive list please see the Ogg Vorbis Web site.
Windows
WinAmp is a quality Windows media player. Be sure to install the full version as the lite version does not include Ogg Vorbis support. Download (4.4 MB)
Zinf is the easiest way to listen to us under Windows. It is small, completely free, and includes excellent playlist support. Download (1.8 MB)
The illiminable Ogg Vorbis plugin is for those who wish to use Windows Media Player or another Directshow audio player. After the plugin is installed WMP will be able to play Ogg Vorbis files. Download (0.5 MB)
Macintosh
Audion is the best way to listen to us under Mac Classic or OS X. It is small, free of cost, integrates well with the native environment, and includes a slick look. Download (2.6 MB)
The OggDrop plugin is for those who wish to use QuickTime or iTunes. After it is installed this plugin will allow QuickTime (and other players and plugins that use it such as iTunes) to play Ogg Vorbis files. Download (0.5 MB)
Linux
XMMS is the easiest way to listen to us under Linux. It is well-supported and included in most distributions. Download (3.0 MB)
